I think of large three piece boards like these as bread boards

which I've not dug into deeply enough to understand exactly who or what is being satirized in this engraving

but maybe more likely the wood was repurposed from something else

I have thoroughly documented them from all sides to show discoloration on some

1965 Robert Williamson Color Study (Tempera Plate 1) 1930s toys and then lovely pale yellowThis one from a group of 1965 color studies by a Robert Williamson, found together in my neck of the woods, which, happily, were very carefully kept over the years: all are gorgeous and in near perfect condition. This one was wrapped in tissue I believe since the time of its making, such that the colors are as rich and pure as its gets, as if painted yesterday. Certainly done for an art class, and with great precision and care; certainly our Robert
