but someone definitely put some love and effort into this

and one of my favorite things about some of them are their plated cedar bark bottoms--so I was sold immediately upon finding this one

There is a little hole at the center of the decorative cutout at top by which it could be pinned directly to the wall

then peering through the kaleidoscopic towers of rings and squares I'd constructed

And rather a possessed looking one too, though I think really just in need of some love! And actually, as I look at photographs of kangaroo as I write this, I might say this carver did manage to capture some of their strangeness fairly well and perhaps this one is meant to be a protective mother!
